New infrared and optical capabilities are facilitating large, homogeneous cluster surveys z > 1. The Spitzer Adaptation of the Red-sequence Cluster Survey (SpARCS) is a deep z'-band imaging survey in the 50 square degree Spitzer SWIRE Legacy fields. Now complete, SpARCS is currently the largest z > 1 cluster survey, and has discovered hundreds of new cluster candidates using the Cluster Red-Sequence technique. I will present Gemini and Keck examples of newly spectroscopically confirmed rich clusters at z > 1. I will also discuss follow-up deep widefield Spitzer (IRAC and MIPS) and ground-based imaging, which is revealing these massive structures in formation.
