Results are presented of the analysis of 2434 measurements in the V band of the Delta Sct star 44 Tau, obtained at Merate Observatory on 25 nights from December 1989 to February 1990. The measurements made it possibly to delineate a precise picture of the photometric behavior of 44 Tau and to evidence unambiguous seven frequencies with amplitudes from 0.030 to 0.006 mag, giving a satisfactory light curve solution. Previous photometric measurements for a period of 25 years were successfully reinterpreted on the basis of this solution, making it possible to study the amplitude variations of the components of light variability. In spite of poor sampling of many data sets, evidence was obtained of probable variations of two of the seven terms. It is concluded that the search for amplitude variations must be restricted to well observed Delta Sct stars with only two or three excited modes.
