Predictions have been made of the UV continuum of the sun in an attempt to improve on previous predictions and to understand the nature of the apparent opacity deficiency in this region. Central intensity and flux were predicted for two standard solar models and were compared with selected observations over the 4500-1500 A range. All known important extinction sources were included in the calculations.
