Shijing, the classical poem collection in the Zhou Dynasty, clearly recorded a solar eclipse that took place on the day Xinmao. The chronological and geographic background for this eclipse are quite clear. However, the precise modern astronomical computation did not find its exact equivalent. In this paper, all the eclipses, that should take place on the day Xinmao for 8 - 6 centuries BC and in the 10th month for the reigns of King Li - King You, are obtained based on the calculations, and the related astronomical elements are discussed. It is wished that this work would be helpful for historians to study the text and background of the literature.
