One of the longstanding goals of SN/SNR research is the establishment of firm observational links between the different types of extragalactic SNe and the various sorts of young remnants seen in our galaxy and the LMC/SMC. Here I briefly review some recent observational research on late-time SN emissions and links between the properties of young supernova remnants and SN subtypes. .
