The SkyMapper Transit Survey is a deep, wide-field survey for transiting Hot Jupiters in selected Galactic Plane fields. It will be carried out on the SkyMapper Telescope, which is a 1.35-m automated survey telescope being built at Siding Spring Observatory in New South Wales, Australia. SkyMapper will feature a mosaic focal plane array of 32 2Kx4K CCDs which will provide a 5.7 square degree field of view. This large imager will allow us to conduct a unique deep survey over a wide field of view, which we anticipate will result in approximately 15 detections in a single month of observing.
