Data obtained during the Franco-Soviet SIGNE 2 MP9 experiment conducted from July 2, 1983 to February 9, 1984 aboard the Prognoz 9 satellite are analyzed. The method of Mazets and Golenetskii (1981) is used to obtain burst energy spectra; this method is illustrated using a Monte Carlo calculation to determine the number of counts a detector can record in the 70-1000 keV range for a 2 x 10 to the -6th erg/sq cm burst. The occurrence rate and duration for bursts are examined. The energy spectra and time profile for the short burst 1983 18 are derived.
