Experiments on the regular sounding of near-solar interplanetary plasma were carried out using the radio occultation method. The radial dependence of the wave scattering angle theta(R) is studied. In the region of supersonic flux formation, theta(R) reveals a scattering enhancement, which permits the spatial localization of the solar-wind transition region.
