We present a rest-frame ultraviolet morphological analysis of 120 z=3.1 Lyman-alpha Emitters (LAEs) in the Extended Chandra Deep Field South (ECDF-S). Using archival HST images taken as part of the GEMS, GOODS, and HUDF surveys, we fit Sersic profiles to each LAE and analyze the best fit half-light radii, Sersic indices, and ellipticities. We find a wide range of best-fit Sersic indices (1 < n < 10), with possible evidence for a bimodality in the distribution (above and below n 2). The galaxies are quite small (half-light radii < 2 kpc) and highly concentrated (2 < C < 4). Visual inspection of the images also suggests a qualitative morphological transition at n 2, with low-n LAEs having extended or multimodal light distributions with relatively little diffuse emission while large-n LAEs have compact central components surrounded by diffuse emission. We also present the results of narrow-band imaging obtained with HST/WFPC2 of several of our LAEs aimed at studying the morphological properties of LAEs in the Lyman-alpha line and compare these properties to the rest-frame continuum properties.
