I consider the method of non-parametric shape-restricted estimation, as developed and applied by Woodroofe to the problem of constraining the distribution of Galactic dark matter -- an example of an integral deconvolution. I briefly describe several other current problems in astrophysics to which non-parametric shape-restricted estimation and/or integral deconvolution methods are applicable.
