An explicit numerical method was developed for studying the secular variations in the restricted problem, which involves a systematic scanning on the alpha-H plane (where alpha denotes the semimajor axis and H is the Delaunay variable). This method makes it possible to explicitly draw a particular region of the alpha-H plane, yielding acceptable equilibrium solutions to the restricted problem. The method can efficiently handle the same problem when the 6th- and 8th-order terms are retained in the respective expansions of the secular terms; it can itself qualify the localized solutions to 'stable' and 'unstable' roots.
