A practical broad-band power divider, called the sector coupler, has been developed for overdimensioned millimeter-wavelength circular waveguide systems. The device is mechanically simple and is characterized by low insertion losses, high return loss, and low higher order TE/On/ mode coupling in the main line. The sector coupler is suited to applications in broad-band waveguide communication systems where many devices must be installed in the waveguide line.
