The Energetic Gamma Ray Experimental Telescope (EGRET) on board the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory detected over 270 gamma ray sources; the majority of the sources were unidentified at other wavelengths. One method to identify the sources is to take multiwavelength images of fields within the error box of the sources. We present an optical survey of unidentified EGRET sources at mid to high Galactic latitude. The selected sources were observed in the radio and found to be radio loud. Images of the fields were taken in the BVR bands at the Palomar 60-inch and the University of Wyoming's 2.3 m and 0.6 m telescopes. The intention is to monitor any optical variability in order to determine the nature of these sources, such as whether they are blazars. We also intend to inspect these sources using spectroscopy at a later date. This work was supported by the Wyoming NSF EPSCoR Undergraduate Research Fellowship and by the NSF REU grant AST-0353760.
