A unified approach to the description of scattering processes and resonant states for the Klein-Gordon equation in a black-hole field is developed on the basis of the Jost method. General definitions and properties of the S-matrix, amplitudes, and differential and total cross-sections are obtained for the axisymmetric Kerr-Newman configuration. Scattering and absorption cross sections and characteristics of the resonant levels of massive particles are obtained for the long-wave case.
