The system of photochemical interactions involving methane and carbon monoxide together with the greenhouse effect is investigated by the method of Cause-and-Effect Analysis. It is shown that properties of non-greenhouse atmosphere depend on the intensity of interaction between hydroxyl radical and tropospheric ozone, and on the intensity of the chemical governing of hydroxyl content by methane and carbon monoxide and by other gases. Properties of the greenhouse atmosphere depend also on the intensity of interaction between temperature and water vapor. The greenhouse atmosphere amplifies any external forcing, including the anthropogenic influence.
