Information on the flux of solid particles in space can be obtained by determining characteristics of lunar craters. The presence of lunar accreta complicates the interpretation of these measurements, although surface accreta deposition can serve as an indicator of exposure age. The effect of accreta on ageing processes and their estimation is considered with reference to solar wind clock, solar flare track dating, and the microcrater pit clock procedures. The nature of the accreta and their distribution are discussed.
