A distinctive assemblage of freshwater calcite microbialites was studied
at Pavilion Lake, British Columbia, Canada, using standard microbial
methods, morphological observations, PLFA analysis, and biochemical
analysis to identify cell-signalling (quorum sensing) compounds.
