The harmonic condition is applied to the motion of galaxies in relativistic cosmology. For the material universe, the average distribution of matter on the large scale is homogenous and isotropic, but within each small region individual galaxies can have large or small masses. Each galaxy moves according to the laws of motion determined by the field equations of gravitation for the average distribution of matter in the whole universe. Transformations between the isotropic, the comoving, the Robertson-Walker and the standard system of coordinates can be derived by using the harmonic condition.
