Scientific paper

A method is proposed for studying local galactic structure by means of
the parameters describing stellar velocity distributions. The efficacy
of the method is tested for OB stars, Cepheids, and Mira stars with
periods of 300 to 350 days, located both inside and outside the Local
System of stars.
