Results are presented from the application of the harmonic condition to the motion of galaxies in relativistic cosmology under the approximation that the universe is an empty de Sitter universe, while the galaxies move rapidly as particles along their geodesics without interfering with one another gravitationally. Transformations of the coordinates between the comoving, the de Sitter, and the standard system of coordinates are given. Also, the Poynting vector giving the intensity of light emitted by a distant receding galaxy as observed on earth is dervied for each system of coordinates. It is found that the velocity-distance relation is dependent on the number of stars in the receding galaxy, or upon its mass. Thus, the motions of galaxies in the universe are isotropic, but the distribution of matter is not necessarily homogeneous.
