The plate collection of the Swarthmore refractor for the 1918-1987 period is examined in order to study the orbital elements of the red-dwarf binary Sigma2398. The results are used to obtain a parallax of 0.289 + or - 0.001 arcsec. Component masses of 0.36 and 0.30 solar masses are found based on the revised orbit of P = 408 yr, with a = 13.88 arcsec. The results provide no evidence of periodic effects indicative of the existence of a third body.
