Physical parameters (density, mass of the ionized gas, emission measure, excitation parameter) of various thermal sources of the Cygnus X complex were derived by adopting a simple spherical model. The limitations of the excitation parameter-spectral class relationship are discussed; because of them, no reliable conclusion can be drawn about the nature of the exciting stars. Physical characteristics of two nonthermal sources were also derived on the assumption they are supernova remnants.
