The radio structure of 89 supernova remnants is examined. The data suggest that shell-type remnants are initially highly spherical and relatively complete; they become more incomplete and distorted through interaction with the interstellar medium. In general the emission is strongest on the side nearest the galactic plane. Any toroidal component, which may arise due to rotation of the original massive star (Bodenheimer and Woosley, 1980), probably accounts for less than 10% of the radio emission.
