This paper presents the analysis of the radio continuum, far infrared, optical and neutral hydrogen properties of a sample of 88 Sbc galaxies. The analysis is geared toward understanding the origin of the non-thermal radio emission and reveals a striking correlation between the radio emissivity in the disk component and the far infrared color index S100μm/S60μm. This relation can be understood if the non-thermal radio emission is strongly related to recent, galaxy wide star formation.
