An attempt is made to determine the global relationship between a neutron star and its surroundings. A review of the development of neutron star physics is presented, and attention is given to the theory that a pulsar is a rotating neutron star. The application of unipolar induction to determining the existence of a pulsar magnetosphere is discussed in the aligned rotator case. It is determined that a pulsar, identified as a quickly rotating neutron star with a strong magnetic field, is capable of converting its rotational energy into field and kinetic energy of high efficiency.
