In the present paper, an integral equation with a symmetric displacement kernel is derived which describes the line-emission transfer in a homogeneous sphere whose rate of expansion is proportional to the radius-vector. An integral equation for a hollow spherical shell expanding according to the same law is also obtained. Both equations are derived under the assumption of complete frequency redistribution in the associated system of coordinates. The asymptotic behavior of the kernel function is determined for various absorptivity profiles.
