Three-Body Problem: Restricted, Minor Planets: Resonances

Scientific paper

The sizes of the stable regions near the triangular libration points corresponding to the 1/1 resonance are provided by discussing orbital resonances. From this the space distribution of the Trojan group is interpreted. The results show that the sizes of all their stable regions have the magnitude of ɛ1/2 for various systems, such as Sun - Jupiter - asteroid, Sun - Saturn - small point mass, Sun - asteroid No. 29 - small point mass. ɛ is the small perturbing parameter of the two-body problem with perturbation. For the system of Sun - Jupiter - asteroid, the situations of 1/1 and 3/2 are similar and their structures of resonant states are stable.
