One of the possibilities for the interpretation of the near absence of Faraday rotation in compact synchrotron sources consists of the requirement of a relativistic Maxwell-like electron distribution with characteristic Lorentz factor ζ > 100. In this Letter we show that such spectrum can be formed due to electron acceleration by resonant Langmuir waves in a highly turbulent medium with energy density of the turbulence WL ˜ H2/8π.
