The spatial and frequency characteristics of phased arrays are analyzed with respect to the reception of extraterrestrial radio signals. Reception of oscillations with a delay at the aperture much greater than the value inverse to the frequency band is shown to be possible. It is shown that accuracy and resolving power can be improved by compression of the phased-array output signal with respect to the angular coordinate.
