In the last three years the number of known radiopulsars has been almost doubled thanks to the PM Survey, a high-frequency search for pulsars in the Galactic plane exploiting the possibilities of the 13-beams receiver installed at the 64-m Parkes radiotelescope. Among the 608 new pulsars discovered so far, eight are in binary systems and at least thirty are young, with characteristic ages of less than 100 kyr. We overview on the features of these two families of new sources, discussing the relevant astrophysical implications of follow-up observations at other wavelengths.
