Comparative studies of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) observed with Fermi and with the VLBA have yielded new insights on where gamma-rays are produced, and how jets are launched and collimated. In anticipation of the Fermi mission we carried out the VLBI Imaging and Polarimetry Survey (VIPS) of 1127 AGN (Helmboldt et al. 2007; ApJ 658, 203). Besides flat-spectrum radio quasars and BL Lacs (collectively termed blazars), Fermi has already detected several radio galaxies. Here we report on preliminary results from a complete radio flux-limited sample of 100 AGN from the first year Fermi catalog with both VLBI and Fermi measurements. These include a minimum of two VLBI observations at 5 GHz. Most sources have also been monitored in their integrated flux density at 15 GHz with the OVRO 40m telescope. We use these observations to look at correlations between the gamma-ray flux/variability and parsec-scale radio properties.
