The Pan-STARRS 1 survey began May 1, 2010. During the commissioning phase in the 6 months prior, the prototype transient identification system discovered several hundred supernova candidates and confirmed and publicly announced almost 50 supernovae. With the start of regular survey operations, we expect that Pan-STARRS 1 will discover and publicly announce hundreds of interesting transients events of all types on a nightly basis. We present here examples of the early events of interest, a description of our complementary transient analysis pipelines, and a guide to accessing the public transient information from the Pan-STARRS 1 survey.
