The FK Comae type stars FK Comae, HD 32918, and UZ Librae were compared, using IUE spectra to determine chromospheric and transition line fluxes which are used to compute the emission and measure temperature distribution in these layers. Relative line intensities reveal electron densities in the range 10 to 100 billion/cc in the region where the Si IV lines are emitted. Combining these results gives the sizes of the chromospheres and transition regions of these stars. The extent to which these stars fit on the rotation-activity correlation found for other late-type stars is discussed. The FK Comae stars group near the upper edge to the region populated by main-sequence stars, or even violate the saturation limit of the linear relations, interpreted by Vilhu (1984) as an indication of complete coverage of the stars' surface by active regions.
