The authors report on observations of the nebulosities around the extreme Of star HD 148937. The star is surrounded by a spherically symmetric Strömgren sphere, an ellipsoidal stellar-wind-blown shell, and a bipolar nebula ejected by HD 148937. The dust distribution and the physical parameters in the nebulosities are investigated. An abundance analysis of the bipolar nebula NGC 6164/5 reveals a nitrogen overabundance by a factor of 5 giving support for the evolved nature of HD 148937. Highly resolved line profiles of Hα and [N II] are used to derive a kinematic model of NGC 6164/5. A possible mechanism for the ejection of the nebulosities is suggested.
