The rate coefficients for the excitation of the metastable levels in O
IV for electron temperatures (1-4) x 10,000 K are presented. The total
LS coupling rates and the rates for the fine structure transitions are
given. The calculations were carried out in a close-coupling
approximation including the effects of closed channel resonances.
