Cen A is the only radio galaxy whose nuclear environment can be studied by means of molecular spectroscopy on linear scales of 100 pc or less. Here we propose to map C3H2, SiO, CS and SO. This will allow us (1) to derive molecular masses and to compare them with the dynamic mass at the respective galactocentric radius, (2) to trace the distributions of the dense and the diffuse gas and (3) to elucidate the possible presence of shocks in this prototypical source.
