The Newtonian gravitational constant G together with Planck's constant ħ and the speed of light c are the fundamental constants of nature. Due to the weakness of gravity the accuracy of G is essentially below the accuracy of other fundamental constants. New measurements on the accuracy level of 10-30 ppm are rather desirable. The history and current status of the experiments for the determination of the gravity constant are reviewed. The new experiment for the G measurement, which is carried out in the framework of collaboration of Russia and China on the pointed accuracy level, is reported.
