Heliographs: Solar Radio Bursts
Scientific paper
The Miyun Synthesis Radio Telescope (MSRT), Beijing Astronomical Observatory, working at 232 MHz, consists of an E-W array of 28 dishes, each being 9 m in diameter. As a radio heliograph, the MSRT has been used for solar observations. An example recorded on May 17, 1998 shows that MSRT can provide spatial information of solar bursts which is very useful for the studies in solar physics in combination with that of other bands.
