Solar Flares: X Rays, Solar Flares: Gamma Rays, Solar Gamma-Ray Bursts
Scientific paper
Due to the new observations obtained by CGRO, GRANAT, YOHKOH, and other satellites, and due to detailed analyses based on the data of the GRS/SMM, the studies on solar flare γ-rays have developed greatly. This paper summarizes the recent progress in both observations and studies, which include: very long duration γ-ray bursts: intense 2.223 MeV line event off the solar limb; the helio-distribution of the γ-ray flares with an emission above 10 MeV; the spectroscopy of solar γ-rays (lines plus continuum); the acceleration mechanisms; and so on. At last the authors prospect the near future of the subject.
