The SKY2000 Master Star Catalog is a compilation of basic data for approximately 300K stars to a limiting magnitude of between 9 and 10 visual. The current catalog's predecessors have been used for many years for satellite acquisition and attitude determination on NASA spacecraft. Continuing development leading to version 2 of the catalog has resulted in improved uniformity and completeness of its astrometric data. In addition to previously incorporated Hipparcos and Tycho data, we have now included astrometry from the recently completed Tycho Reference and the Twin Astrograph catalogs. Every star in the catalog now has high-quality positional information. We have also improved the error information for wide-band photometric data, solved many outstanding ``problem" cases, and added observed CCD star-tracker data from the RXTE satellite for 4572 stars. This paper describes the current status of the SKY2000 catalog and outlines plans for future improvements.
