The Near Earth Asteroid Tracking (NEAT) program operates autonomously from Haleakala, Maui, Hawaii and is a collective effort between NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the U. S. Air Force. The fundamental goal of NEAT is to significantly increase the known population of Near-Earth Asteroids (NEAs). We will present a brief history and future plans of NEAT, a description of its current configuration mounted on the Maui Space Surveillance Site (MSSS) 1.2-m telescope (see abstract this proceedings, Talent, D. et al), discovery and observational summary. This work is performed at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, under contract with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
