Spectral observations of Uranus and Neptune in the 390-840 nm wavelength
range are analyzed. It is shown that the majority of the unidentified
weak depressions in the spectra of these planets are in good agreement
with the calculated positions for simultaneous transitions in methane
and hydrogen molecules.
