Deep, high resolution images of the nebula surrounding BL Lac are presented which indicate a spiral nebula structure. Attention is given to the brightness distribution along a section through the proposed spiral arms. This morphological study of the prototype of BL Lacertae objects is in agreement with the Hutchings et al. (1982) interpretations suggesting an association of low redshift QSOs with galaxies of spiral structure.
