The variability and evolutionary status of DY Her are investigated during 17 nights of uvby-beta photometry. DY Her is shown to be indistinguishable from large-amplitude Delta Scuti variables. The metallicity, space motion, and period-gravity relation all suggest that the star should be a Population I Delta Scuti star in the immediate post-main-sequence phase of evolution. The following average values are determined: effective temperature of 7360 K, effective log g of 3.87, and E(b-y) of 0.045.
