Molecular gas in the bar at the center of NGC 253 has been imaged with 5arcsec×9arcsec resolution in the CO emission line. The molecular bar has an angular extent of 39arcsec×12arcsec and a mass in molecular clouds of 4.8×108 M_sun;. The gas in the molecular bar appears to be rotating as a rigid body with a very steep rotation curve, indicating a large central mass concentration.
