This paper gives the results of a blue and infrared study of new and old variable stars within a field of 30 sq deg centered on the nebula NGC 7635. Twenty-six variables or suspected variables are already known, and thirty-two new variable stars have been examined on plates obtained from 1962 to 1973. Types, elements, and light curves are given. Most of the new variables belong to the Mira type. They are barely visible or invisible in the blue, but fairly strong in the infrared, with B-I color indices larger than +6. Some general considerations follow.
