We present the latest results from our survey for Low Surface Brightness Galaxies in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS). We used public SDSS imaging data to establish a sample of all galaxies with radii > 11'' and a limiting surface brightness of mulim(g) = 26.5 mag arcsec-2 within an area of 195 deg2 using own detection and analysis software. The redshifts for all detected galaxies were collected both from the SDSS and NED databases. The spectra of about 200 galaxies with unknown redshifts were observed with the 8m VLT (ESO), 6m (SAO RAS), NTT (ESO), 3.5m (Calar Alto) and 2.2m (Calar Alto) telescopes. We used these and the existing SDSS spectra (totally 150 galaxies with mueff(g) > 22.5 mag arcsec-2) to estimate metallicities based on the empirical estimators such as the line ratios ([NII]6584/Ha, [SII]6717,6731/Ha). The latter we calibrated using our catalog of SDSS DR1 emission-line galaxies with the oxygen abundances from Te measurements. The galaxy luminosities were determined using the SDSS u,g,r,i,z images. We examine the metallicity-luminosity relation for Low Surface Brightness Galaxies in different SDSS filters and compare it with the known metallicity-luminosity relation for dwarf irregular galaxies.
