According to the mirror manufactured in practical terms, the developing process, properties and fabrication process of the optical materials used to make reflecting mirror are introduced. From various views, like developments at present and problems existing in the materials, this paper shows the way to advance in future. Finally, the material capabilities in common are summarized, especially for the material SiC.
