We briefly discuss the results of our recent AO-assisted imaging campaign on Sharpless 106. Near-IR broad-band imaging shows there is little star formation going on in the region while the central source IRS 4 shows distinct excess emission in both the H- and K-band. No extension of IRS 4 is found. Narrow-band imaging in Br gamma yields information on the extinction structure.
