A low-mass molecular cloud core coincident with an IRAS source in the NGC-1333 region has been discovered and investigated by means of millimeter spectral line observations. The dense molecular core, as traced by CS(J = 2 - 1) emission, is spatially unresolved when observed with a telescope FWHM beam of 39 arcsec. The true core diameter is about 20 arcsec (7400 AU), and has a total mass of 0.8 solar mass. It is proposed that the central object is obscured by a circumstellar disk which is viewed nearly edge-on. The infrared luminosity of the central source is greater than 18 solar luminosities. An exmination of the known observational data in the millimeter, infrared, and radio continuum spectral regions has been made in order to discern the nature of the source. It is concluded that the object is a promising protostellar candidate.
